Bundled Tube Cutting Saw Blade Guide: Reduce Burrs, Vibration and Tooth Breakage

Bundled tube cutting can look efficient on paper, but it creates a harder cutting condition than single-tube cutting. The blade meets changing wall thickness, interrupted contact and small tube movement inside the bundle. If the blade, clamping and feed are not matched, buyers quickly see burrs, chipped teeth, noisy cutting and inconsistent lengths.

Why bundled tube cutting is different

In a bundle, the tooth does not cut one stable wall. It enters and exits multiple tube walls with gaps between them. This changes tooth load many times during one cut. The saw blade must handle impact, chip evacuation and vibration at the same time.

Tooth count and pitch

Too coarse a pitch can grab thin tube walls and break tips. Too fine a pitch can pack chips and overheat. For bundled cutting, select tooth count based on the thinnest wall and the total engagement range, not only tube outside diameter.

Clamping is part of the blade system

A good blade cannot correct loose bundled tubes. Side pressure, top pressure and support close to the cut reduce micro-movement. If tubes move inside the bundle, the tooth receives side impact and the blade appears to fail early.

Feed and coolant

Feed should be steady enough to form chips without shocking the blade. Coolant must reach the tooth entry area and wash chips out of the cut. When coolant only wets the blade body, heat and chip welding remain.
